Top Three Easter Activities

By Cody Barnes | | baby, baby hair care, baby shower, babyshower, easter, easterfun, natural baby products, summer, top three easter activities

As with every holiday, parents always want to explore new fun art projects to do with their kids. After searching for ideas on Google and Pinterest, I have compiled a list of my top 3 favorite Easter activities.

1. Homemade Easter Baskets

What you need:

  • Empty cardboard egg carton (1 for each)
  • Variety of acrylic paints
  • Ribbon
  • Hot glue gun
Prep:
  • 1st cut the taps and top off of your egg cartons

Now you are ready to paint your cartons. Choose your colors to make your masterpiece. After you are all done let your baskets dry while you choose your ribbon for the handle. Cut a piece of ribbon to your desired length and glue it to the bottom and sides of your carton.

Congratulations! You now have the perfect basket for an egg hunt.

2. Crack Egg Painting with Edible Paint

What you need:

  • Plastic eggs
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Vanilla
  • Powdered sugar
  • Food coloring
  • Bowls (1 large mixing bowl, and 4-5 small bowls)
  • Hand mixer & beaters
  • Spoons
  • Roll of white easel paper
  • Painter’s tape

Edible Paint Recipe:

  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
  • Food coloring

Begin whipping your heavy whipping cream in your large mixing bowl until it begins to create peaks. Then add in your sugar and vanilla until it’s stiff enough. Do this for each of your colored creams and separate them into your bowls. After you have made all your different colored creams start filling up all your plastic eggs.

Now lay out a sheet of white easel paper and hand the eggs over to your toddler(s). You and your little one(s) will have so much fun painting and eating with these creations. Don’t be afraid to paint faces as well. It is edible after all.

3. Homemade Easter Cards

What you need:

  • Variety of construction paper
  • Finger paints
  • Glue
  • Easter stickers
  • Googly eyes

Prep:

  • Pick your color of construction paper for your card and fold it in half. Then on the front of your card draw a simple shape of a circle, bunny, or egg.

Now let you and your little one's creativity shine.

Turn your circles into little chicks by adding a googly eye, and drawing in a beak, wing, and feet. Then decorate them with paint, stickers, or make feathers out of construction paper.

Take your bunnies and add googly eyes, and draw in a nose and mouth. Then decorate them as well with paint, stickers, or make fur out of construction paper.

Decorate your eggs with paint, stickers, or create them out of little pieces of construction paper.

When you're all done show off your cards to your family and friends.

Explore all these projects and bring out your creative side. Put your own spin on it and share your ideas with others. Most importantly, have fun! These activities aren’t just for your little ones, but for you as well.
