All-Natural Nail Care Recipes Using Moringa Oil

By Emily | | all natural nail care, cuticle oil, home manicures, nail care

Imagine meeting someone for the first time. As they reach for a handshake, you notice that their nails are dirty, their cuticles are cracked and irritated, and their nail beds are discolored. This is precisely why most people in social settings appreciate clean hands. Dirty, unsightly nails can be off-putting which is why nail cleanliness is socially important. Needless to say, keeping your nails and hands healthy is an essential part of good hygiene.

Below are several, all-natural nail care recipes that utilize the many benefits of moringa oleifera oil to help you on your quest to achieve beautiful nails.

Nail Strengthening Oil Recipe

For weak, brittle nails that are difficult to grow, this all-natural strengthening oil will help hydrate your nails and cuticles.

For this nail strengthening oil, you will need:

  • 4 Tablespoons vitamin E oil
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil
  • 10 drops frankincense essential oil
  • 4 drops moringa oil

Mix all ingredients together. Rub directly onto the nails once a day, or at least three times per week. Store in a glass, amber bottle in a cool, dark area. Use within 60 days. Citrus oil has a shorter shelf-life than other essential oils.

Cuticle Oil

For dry, cracked cuticles, hydration is key. This oil will help soften the cuticles, making them easier to push back. If you have sore, red cuticles, it’s imperative that you keep the area clean and protected.

For this cuticle oil recipe, you will need:

  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon apricot kernel oil
  • 2 drops moringa oil
  • 2 drops citrus oil (lemon, grapefruit, orange, etc.)

Mix all ingredients and massage into nail beds and cuticles daily. Allow to sit on the cuticles for at least 10 minutes before washing off with a gentle hand soap. Push the cuticles back gently with an orange stick. For extremely dry cuticles, leave the oil on for at least 20 minutes before washing the hands with a mild hand soap.

All-natural ointments may also help with dry, torn, ripped, or painful cuticles. Mummy’s Miracle Moringa Baby Ointment contains ingredients like shea butter, castor seed oil, sunflower seed oil, moringa oil, cod liver oil, and beeswax. This ointment also contains vitamins A and D, which are typically found in many skin protectant products.

Keep Hands Moisturized

For hands and nails that show signs of aging, moisturizing them daily may help reduce the signs of aging. You can use this oil on you hands, nails and wrists.

For this anti-aging hand and nail oil, you will need:

  • 4 Tablespoons jojoba oil
  • 4 drops moringa oil
  • 2 drops carrot seed oil

Mix all ingredients together and apply to the hands, nails, and wrists. Place plastic or satin gloves on the hands and allow the mixture to sit for fifteen minutes. Remove the gloves and wash hands with a mild hand cleanser. Use this recipe twice weekly for best results.

Anti-Fungal Nail Treatment

Always seek the advice of a healthcare professional to rule out any serious infections before trying home remedies. Black walnut oil is historically known to help with fungal infections.

For this anti-fungal recipe, you will need:

  • ½ cup carrier oil (almond, coconut, hemp, etc.)
  • ¼ cup black walnut oil
  • 2 Tablespoons tea tree oil
  • 2 drops moringa oil

Mix all ingredients together and apply to a clean, affected nail two times per day.

With regular nail, hand, and cuticle care, you will have your nails looking their best in no time.

Love + miracles,
